If you’re on the hunt for the best surf town in Sri Lanka, Hiriketiya is an absolute must-visit (that’s where I took the picture of all those surfboards). We spent over a month surfing and chilling on the beach here, and it’s hands down our favorite spot in Sri Lanka. Nuwara Eliya, with its charming tea plantations and British architecture, feels like stepping into a time capsule of colonial Sri Lanka. It’s a place where you can almost feel the British influence everywhere—it’s such a unique experience to explore! You can even enjoy a high tea at the Grand Hotel; it’s a must-try. Even though Hiriketiya may be on the smaller side, the food scene here is an absolute banger! The picture above is at Cactus, one of my absolute favorite spots for lunch and coffee! Nestled in Ahangama on Sri Lanka’s stunning south coast, it’s the perfect daytime hangout to enjoy some deliciously healthy snacks and a flat white that’ll have you reminiscing about Australia.
