The 5 BEST Cafes in Bohol: Our Favorite Coffee Spots and Local Classics

Oliver and I are big breakfast people. Like, the kind who land in a new place and immediately start looking up where to get good coffee. So as soon as we arrived in Bohol, the café hunt began—and honestly, we were pleasantly surprised by how many solid spots we found.

Since we were here for a week, we had time to try a bunch of different cafés. Some were fine, but a few seriously stood out, so much so we went back more than once!

If you’re only in Bohol for a few days and want to start your mornings strong, this list is for you. These are our 5 favorite cafes in Bohol—whether you’re looking for a quick caffeine fix, a late morning brunch or need to get some work done, we have it!

5 Best Cafes in Bohol

While most cafes in Bohol have the classic toasties and smoothie bowls, and are not anywhere near as good as the cafes in Siargao, not all of them are worth your time.

In this guide, we’re sharing the best cafes in Bohol that bring you great coffee, tasty food, and an atmosphere you’ll actually want to spend time in.

1. Overgrown Café & Bar // Our Absolute Favorite Cafe in Bohol!

Opening Hours: 6am-10pm
Price: $
My Rating: ★★★★★
Menu & Location (They also have a coffee shop in Tagbilaran City)

We hit Overgrown Café three times during our 7 days in Bohol—it’s that good! The café is small, with both indoor and outdoor seating, and it can get pretty packed in the morning but there seemed to always be a seat available.

On our first visit, we tried a little bit of everything: two coffees, an almond croissant that was surprisingly dense but still super moist (and, honestly, so good), a mango smoothie bowl, and Oliver’s cream cheese jalapeño toastie, which was fire! We both agreed we wouldn’t go for it as a breakfast choice again, but as a midday snack? That sandwich slapped.

We also worked here a couple of times. They’ve got a high-top bench with outlets and super fast Wi-Fi, making it an ideal spot to get some remote work done for a few hours. On those visits, we grabbed a couple of coffees, the peanut butter smoothie bowl (because dessert for breakfast is always a good idea), and shared a regular toastie.

Overall, Overgrown definitely takes the crown for our favorite café in Bohol. It’s reasonably priced, the coffee was super velvety but not too milky making it one of the best flat whites we’ve had in the Philippines.

2. Common Crew Café & Roasters // Best Bohol Cafe to Work From

Opening Hours: 10am-6pm
Price: $
My Rating: ★★★★
Menu & Location

If you need to get some work done while in Bohol, Common Crew is definitely the spot. They have a dedicated workspace on the second level you can book, where you can pay 400 pesos for the whole day, which includes a free specialty coffee, unlimited filter coffee, and water. If you’re only looking for a few hours of work, they also offer a 250 peso pass that gives you access to the space for three hours, plus the same perks: a free specialty coffee and unlimited filter coffee and water.

This setup was perfect for us because, let’s be real, it can feel awkward to take up a table at a regular café when you’re there to work. Plus, the coffee here was delicious. We also tried two different toasties—a creamed spinach and a cheese with tomato jam—and they were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of melt. If you’re craving something sweet, they also serve waffles!

The only downside is that they don’t open until 10 a.m., so if you’re an early riser looking for your first coffee of the day, you’ll need to skip this one.

3. Kamaya // Best Coffee Shop in Panglao for Brunch

Opening Hours: 7am-10pm
Price: $$
My Rating: ★★★★
Menu & Location

One morning, we went to Overgrown for the fourth day in a row (no shame), and I noticed a QR code that said to check out their sister location. I scanned it, and sure enough, they had a menu with more variety than just toasties and smoothie bowls. So, Oliver and I decided to scooter over—it was only about 7 minutes away.

And wow, am I glad we did. This café is absolutely stunning. It has that natural, Bali-style aesthetic, and the coffee was even better. I had one of the most delicious Spanish lattes I’ve had on the island. We went for the eggs benedict and the bagel with egg and bacon. The eggs benedict was a little overcooked (total tragedy), but the bagel? Huge, tasty, and absolutely worth it.

They also serve dinner, and their cocktails looked divine. Located in a quieter part of town next to one of the coolest places to stay in Bohol, Kamaya is the perfect spot for a laid-back brunch or evening drink. Honestly, if we could go back, we’d stay at the dive resort next door and have Kamaya coffee every morning.

4. Shaka // Best Coffee Shop in Bohol for Vegan Options

Opening Hours: 7am-9:30pm
Price: $$
My Rating: ★★★★
Menu & Location

If you’ve been to Siargao or Siquijor, you’ve definitely heard of Shaka. This vegan café is one of the most popular spots in the Philippines, known for its super aesthetic smoothie bowls and delicious vegan food choices—it’s a must-try.

I will say, the Shaka in Bohol isn’t quite as pretty as their other locations since it’s not beachfront, but it’s still a great spot with good food. We had the nachos, which were stuffed with jackfruit, beans, veggies, and guacamole. They were a much-needed change from all the toasties we’d been having.

And of course, we had to grab a coffee. I’m pretty sure they use soy milk as their standard, but they do offer other milk options like coconut or almond.

5. Bohol Bee Farm // The best cafe in Panglao Bohol for a great view

Opening Hours: 8am-9pm
Price: $$
My Rating: ★★★
Menu & Location

Bohol Bee Farm is tucked away from Alona Beach, making it the perfect stop if you’re heading to the main island to visit the Chocolate Hills or Tarsier Sanctuary. This place is mostly known for its ice cream, but since Oliver and I wanted to fuel up before our DIY Bohol tour, we decided to skip the ice cream and have breakfast instead. And wow, if you only visit for the ice cream, you’re seriously missing out on the incredible view of the ocean! It was absolutely stunning.

We arrived around 9:30, and there was only one other person there. The place is huge, and we were able to grab a seat right at the edge with an unobstructed view of the sea. I’ll admit, the hot coffee Oliver had was a bit disappointing, but my coconut coffee was delicious. It was an iced, sweet coffee that hit the spot. Oliver went for the traditional American breakfast, which was a lot of food—and really tasty. I had the French toast, which was perfectly cooked and not too sweet.

It was definitely pricier than some of the other cafés, but not outrageous. Overall, the food was good but nothing to call home about, but honestly, you come here for the view.
