The 7 Best Villas in Hiriketiya: My Favorite Private Villas 2025
Hiriketiya in Sri Lanka is, like I’ve mentioned in a few of my other travel guides, one of my absolute favorite places to stay in the country.
Hiriketiya Beach is this small surf town on the south coast of Sri Lanka, surrounded by jungle, with a super chill vibe and a little bay that’s perfect for surfing or just hanging out.
I’ve been to Hiriketiya twice now, both times for longer stays, and honestly, I think it’s the best beach town in Sri Lanka if you’re planning to stay somewhere long term.
So in this guide, I’m sharing some of the best places to stay in Hiriketiya, more specifically, the best villas in Hiriketiya.
If you’re coming with a group, staying with family, or just want something a bit more private and romantic, booking a villa in Hiriketiya is definitely the way to go.

Villas in Hiriketiya – My Experience
So usually whenever I’ve stayed in Hiriketiya Beach Sri Lanka, I’ve stayed in apartments. The last time I was in Hiriketiya I stayed at The Rez, which was part of Verse Collective. However, I saw recently that Verse shut down which is such a shame, but the apartments were super cute, well-equipped, and had amazing views, so I’m not totally sure if they’re still around, but it might be worth texting them directly.
Aside from that apartment, I’ve also stayed at a couple of villas in Hiriketiya when we had friends visiting and all wanted to stay together and honestly, it was such a great experience.
Shaka House is a really beautiful little villa right in Hiriketiya with a private pool and three bedrooms, so it fit all six of us. We only stayed three nights, but it was 100% worth it just to have our own backyard and pool. We had the best time here and I highly recommend looking into it for your group stay in Hiriketiya.
I did a bit of research at the time too and saw loads of other amazing villas, but most were booked out, which was such a bummer.
One I really want to stay at next time is La Playa Villas, which are owned by La Playa Beach Club in Hiriketiya. They have that same aesthetic and a private pool overlooking the ocean and it looks incredible. Definitely somewhere I’m planning to stay the next time I’m in town.

1. La Playa Villas Hiriketiya
This was the villa I really wanted to stay at the last time I was in town, and I’m already making plans to book La Playa Villas Hiriketiya for my next trip to Sri Lanka.
There are two villas here, and both are two-bedroom with an open-plan kitchen and dining area, which is perfect if you like making your own breakfast in the morning or just want a bit more of a more homey vibe. However, I love having my own kitchen so I can make a coffee in the morning and some breakfast because I usually wake up pretty early. Same goes for all surfers that leave early, it’s just easy to be able to make a snack at home before leaving the house.
But what I really had my eye on was the outdoor space. Each villa has its own private swimming pool that pretty much overlooks the ocean and it looks absolutely incredible.
This is definitely one of the best villas in Hiriketiya you could stay at if you’re after something private, stylish, and right by the beach.

2. Shaka House Sri Lanka
Shaka House is located right in the middle of Hiriketiya, just a bit closer to Dikwella Beach, and it’s genuinely such a great place to stay.
The villa is super spacious, with a beautiful outdoor living area that includes a big dining table, a massive sofa, and of course, a swimming pool that’s more than big enough for everyone to hang out and cool off.
One of my favorite things about this villa is the open kitchen that looks out into the backyard. It’s such a nice setup for group dinners and drinks in the evening.
The bedrooms are spacious with really comfortable beds, and yes, there’s air conditioning in all of them, which is always a must in my opinion. I also really liked the overall decor of the villa. It felt stylish but still super homey, and honestly, I could’ve easily stayed there for way longer.

3. Blue Heights Hiriketiya
Blue Heights is honestly incredible, it’s such a beautiful property and probably one of the biggest villas in Hiriketiya. With four full bedrooms, it sleeps up to eight people, so it’s perfect for a large family or a group of friends looking to treat themselves a bit.
The villa overlooks Hiriketiya Bay and has more of a traditional feel to it. The building itself leans into an older Sri Lankan (almost colonial) style, but the interiors are tastefully done and super cozy. If I ever came back with a bigger group, this is 100% where I’d want to stay.
The highlight here is definitely the outdoor area though, with tons of palm trees, a gorgeous pool with ocean views, and even direct beach access. There’s a little path through the palms that leads straight onto the sand, which is just so amazing.

4. Boho Jungle Studios
Boho Jungle Studios is one of the more affordable villas in Hiriketiya. It’s a two-bedroom villa with a private kitchen, a shared living area, and a cute little garden out back. This one’s honestly great for anyone, even backpackers who just want a bit more space and comfort for a few nights.
If you split it between two couples, the price can come down to around $30 a night per person, which is pretty awesome. Sure, it’s not as fancy as some of the others on this list, but for what you pay, it’s amazing. It has everything you need, it’s stylish, and the decor is actually super cool and unique. Definitely a place I’d stay at myself!

5. Belika Beach Villa Hiriketiya
Belika Beach Villa is definitely one of the most unique places to stay in Sri Lanka. Technically, Belika is a hotel with standard rooms, but they also offer one large private villa in Hiriketiya, and it’s right by the ocean. The villa itself is huge, with a massive kitchen and four bedrooms, so there’s plenty of space if you’re coming with a group.
What makes Belika stand out, though, is the design. The whole place is pink, with a super quirky, bold style that honestly reminds me of Miami Art Deco vibes.
It’s super fun and definitely different, so if you’re looking for somewhere a bit more out there and unique, this one’s for you. Personally, it might be a little much for my own taste, but I totally get why people love it.

6. Kaas Villas Hiriketiya
Kaas Villas Hiriketiya is a beautifully newly built villa located at Dickwella Beach, pretty much right next to Verse Collective. Out of all the villas in Hiriketiya, these definitely feel the most modern and least traditional. It honestly feels more like renting a stylish townhouse in Australia or the US.
Each villa has two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and even a little plunge pool outside, which is a really nice touch. If you’re after something sleek, clean, and contemporary, this is a great option.

7. Aether Hilltop Villas
Aether Hilltop Villas probably has one of the best bedroom views you can get in Hiriketiya. These are more like private apartments than full villas, but each one comes with a little kitchenette and just one bedroom, so it’s perfect for couples.
The real highlight here is the view. From your bed, you can step straight out onto the balcony, where you’ve got a private plunge pool that looks out over the entire ocean. It’s absolutely stunning and definitely one of the more unique places to stay in Hiriketiya.
