Where to Stay in Corfu Greece: My Top Areas and Hotels in 2025

Last Updated on June 17, 2025 by Oliver

Corfu has been one of the most popular Greek islands for years now, so I’m not about to pretend I’ve discovered some secret. But I’ll say this, I love Corfu, and I’ve visited several times because it’s honestly one of my favorite islands in Greece. It’s gorgeous, with crystal-clear water, beautiful beaches, amazing food, and fantastic hotels.

What I love most about Corfu is the size. It’s not some “hidden gem” that’s about to blow up next year, it already gets visitors, but it doesn’t feel overhyped like Mykonos or Santorini. And because the island is so big, it never feels crowded. You can always find a quiet beach or a charming village to escape to.

In this little guide on where to stay in Corfu Greece, I’ll share the best places to stay in Corfu, my favorite beach towns, the best areas, and a few hotels I personally recommend. Let’s get into it.

Where to Stay in Corfu: My Experience

By now, I’ve stayed in quite a few different areas of Corfu and of course, I’ve got my favorites. In this article, I’ll share my personal take on where I think the best places to stay in Corfu are and which little towns I liked most. I’m fully aware there are about a thousand other places you could stay, so please don’t come for me if your favorite isn’t on here.

I definitely prefer the north of the island over the south probably like most people. On my last trip, we stayed in a few different spots, and I really liked Acharavi and Agni Bay. Both had beautiful beaches with crystal-clear water, cute little restaurants, and they never felt too busy, which I loved.

That said, I also really like Corfu Town. I wouldn’t stay there for a full week, but I enjoy spending a couple nights there, wandering through the shops, eating some great food, sitting outside on little streets drinking wine. I’m definitely a sucker for a Mediterranean town with cobblestone alleys and a bit of charm.

Best Areas to Stay in Corfu Greece

Acharavi

Acharavi is a small beach town on the northern coast of Corfu. From my experience, it was definitely one of the quieter beach towns, which I really liked. The beach here is pebbly, the water is crystal clear, and there’s a row of little Greek tavernas and restaurants right along the waterfront. In terms of affordability, Acharavi is also one of the cheaper options. You’ll find fewer big resorts and more family-run apartments and holiday homes, which gives it a much more local feel.

Gouvia

Gouvia is a fairly popular town just north of Corfu Town, which makes it quite convenient if you’re coming in from the port. Because of that, you do get a few more crowds, especially from cruise ships, but I still think it’s worth considering. It’s a nice little Greek town with easy access to the island’s main attractions, and if you’re after a luxury hotel or resort, this is one of the best places to look. Some of the best 5 star hotels in Corfu are based in or around Gouvia.

Agni Bay

Agni Bay is tiny, and that’s what’s so amazing about it. It’s more of a hidden little cove on the northeast coast of Corfu with a small beach and a handful of tavernas that sit right on the water. It’s not the kind of place with big hotels or nightlife, this is the kind of place you come to if you want to take it slow and get away from all the crowds. It’s quiet, peaceful, and if you can find a nice guesthouse or apartment nearby, it’s a great place to stay for a couple of nights away from the busier towns.

Corfu Town

I actually really like Corfu Town and I like staying in Corfu Town too. Yes, it gets busy, but I love wandering the cobblestone alleys, sitting in little cafes, browsing the markets, and just enjoying the atmosphere. The whole vibe reminded me a bit of Barcelona, if Barcelona were a Greek island town with pastel shutters. I probably wouldn’t stay here for a full week, but for one or two nights, I think it’s perfect, especially if you want to do some shopping, eat well, and get a bit of city energy before heading to the beach.

Agios Georgios Beach

Agios Georgios is a lovely long stretch of beach on the northwest coast of Corfu. It’s definitely more on the relaxed side, with a few restaurants and beach bars, but not much else, which for many people is exactly what they’re after. There is a golden sand beach, clear waters that are shallow and great for swimming, and there’s a nice selection of mid-range hotels and holiday rentals here. One reason this beach is so popular is the neighbouring beach which is Porto Timoni Beach, the most famous beach in Corfu.

1. My Favorite Accommodation Acharavi in Corfu

Ilena Hotel Acharavi Corfu

Ilena Hotel in Acharavi is actually one of my favorite hotels in Corfu. I’ve stayed here a couple of times now, and it’s just exactly what I want from a Corfu trip. I’m not really a big resort person, so I always try to find small boutique hotels that still give you that proper Greek island vibe and Ilena is that place. It’s super cute, has a beautiful little pool, and the garden is full of flowers and palm trees. The rooms are cozy, and the whole place just feels really peaceful. On top, it’s affordable, which makes it even better. Easily one of my top picks for Acharavi.

Karavos Apartments Almyros

Karavos Apartments is another great place to stay in Acharavi Corfu, especially if you prefer having a bit more space. It’s a small apartment complex with a really nice pool, and every apartment comes with a pool view, kitchen, and living area. I’d especially recommend it if you’re traveling with family or kids, it’s just easier having your own fridge, a place to prep snacks, or hang out when you’re not out and about.

2. Best Place to Stay in Corfu for Luxury, Gouvia

Paradise Hotel Corfu

Paradise Hotel Corfu is probably one of the best value-for-money places I’ve come across in Corfu. The resort has that Mediterranean charm with whitewashed buildings, lush gardens, and a pool that overlooks the coastline and honestly it’s such a nice spot to hang out. The staff are super friendly and even though the hotel isn’t brand new, it’s clean, well-kept, and feels really relaxed. If you want to stay somewhere resort-y in Corfu without spending a fortune, this is a fantastic option. I mean, double rooms with breakfast starting around $80 in summer? That’s pretty rare these days, especially in Greece.

Dreams Corfu Resort & Spa

Dreams Corfu Resort & Spa is where you go if you want proper luxury. This is a real 5-star hotel, modern, stylish, and with an upscale resort feel. The rooms are spacious, the service is excellent, and the food was honestly way better than I expected for a big hotel. It’s right near their private beach, has a couple of pools, and the whole vibe is just very chill and upscale. If I were in the mood to treat myself for a few nights and wanted the full resort experience, this is definitely where I’d stay.

3. Best Corfu Hotels in Agni Bay

The Olive Press Agni Corfu // One of the best luxury villas in Corfu

The Olive Press is easily one of the most stunning villas in Corfu, especially in Agni Bay. It’s got a traditional Greek character with a modern, upscale twist with exposed stone walls, stylish furniture, and just the right amount of luxury without feeling overdone. It still feels like Greece, which is exactly what I want in a place like this, sorrounded by olive groves.

The main highlight though is the insane two-level pool overlooking Agni Bay. It’s incredible. The villa sleeps up to 12 people with 6 bedrooms, so it’s perfect if you’re coming to Corfu with a big family or a group of friends and want to stay somewhere beautiful together.

Villa Aphrodite // Best Views in Corfu

Villa Aphrodite is another amazing option in Agni Bay, a bit smaller with 3 bedrooms but still super stylish. This one leans more modern in terms of design with clean lines, fresh interiors, and massive windows that let in tons of light. What really makes it though is the location up in the hills, with a pool that has one of the best views of the coastline. If you’re traveling with a small group or just want something quiet and scenic, this is a perfect pick.

4 .Corfu Resorts & Hotels in Corfu Town

New York Luxury Suites // Best Place to Stay in Corfu Town

If I were to stay in Corfu Town again, this is 100% where I’d go. New York Luxury Suites are beautifully renovated modern apartments right in the heart of town. The location is perfect, and the interior is super chic, clean, stylish, and done up really well. If you can, definitely go for the apartment with the terrace. Sitting out there in the morning with a coffee, looking out over the rooftops and old buildings feels like peak Greece.

Porta Suites

Porta Suites is another great aparthotel option in the middle of Corfu Town. It’s also modern and recently renovated, but while New York Suites lean more chic and sleek, Porta has a cozier, more homey vibe which I know a lot of people love. It’s a two-bedroom apartment with a sofa bed, so it can sleep up to five people. A solid spot for your first night in Corfu if you’re traveling with family or friends before heading off to the beach resorts.

5. Best Places to Stay in Agios Georgios Beach Corfu

Delfini Resort

Delfini Resort is another one of my favorites because it’s exactly what I’m looking for when I’m staying in Corfu. It’s a small setup with little apartments about a 10 minute walk from Agios Georgios Beach.

Each one has a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms, and a sun terrace, so if you’re the type who likes having breakfast outside or snacks in the fridge, this place is perfect. The garden is beautiful, there’s even a tennis court, and you’re within walking distance of loads of restaurants and bars. If you’re team holiday home and not team resort, this is the perfect place to stay in Corfu.

Villa Stefania

Villa Stefania is a beautiful 4-bedroom villa that’s modern, spacious, and surprisingly affordable. You can get it for as low as $450 a night in summer for up to 8 people, which for Corfu is actually a great deal. It’s in a great spot near the beach, has a big private pool with daybeds, and a sun terrace for lazy afternoons.
