Where to Eat in Mancora: The 13 Best Restaurants and Eateries in Mancora

Mancora completely surprised me as a foodie hotspot. I wasn’t expecting it at all, but that’s the magic of this place. At first glance, it might not seem like the most picturesque beach town, but trust me, the longer you stay, the more you fall in love with it.

Now, let’s talk about the food scene here—it’s a bit like a hidden treasure hunt! It doesn’t scream out, “This is where the good food is!” It’s more like a game of ‘Where’s Wally?’ for restaurants. But once you uncover the top-notch spots, oh man, you’re in for a treat.

To save you from the scavenger hunt, I put together a list of where to eat in Mancora with my 13 favorite spots.

Where to Eat in Mancora

Where to Eat in Mancora?

I spent almost two weeks in Mancora and had the chance to explore quite a few dining spots. I’m sharing 13 places that I think you should definitely check out, though not all of them are must-visits. But trust me, there were a few gems I kept going back to.

For breakfast, my absolute favorite was Green Eggs & Ham. It was love at first bite! For dinner, you can’t miss La Mosca En La Sopa—though that’s just my personal pick. I’ll break down all the great food spots into categories based on what made the most sense to me.

Enjoy the read, and I hope this helps you find some awesome places to eat during your trip. Have fun and happy eating!

Where to Eat in Mancora for Breakfast

1. Green Eggs and Ham

If you ever find yourself in Mancora, you absolutely have to check out my all-time favorite breakfast spot, Green Eggs and Ham. Seriously, it’s the best place to start your day for so many reasons. I think I ended up there every other day just because they really know how to get you going.

The cafe itself has this super cool Caribbean vibe. Imagine a wooden beach shack painted in pastel colors, with a big upstairs terrace facing the ocean – the views are just incredible!

Their food is simple but so delicious from fantastic sandwiches and pancakes to chicken fried rice and some super yummy juices. My go-to is passion fruit juice, a French press coffee, and an avocado sandwich with a hashbrown. Yum!

FYI: Green Eggs & Ham is located right next to one of my favorite hotels, ‘Las Olas’! Check out our guide on ‘Where to Stay in Mancora‘ for more information on the best hotels and areas.

2. Cafe Coral

One of my favorite breakfast spots has to be Cafe Coral, right on the main street. Sure, the atmosphere isn’t as cozy or picturesque as Green Eggs and Ham, but it’s still a fantastic place if you’re looking to mix things up a bit.

They serve up some seriously good coffee, tasty vegetarian options, fresh juices, and pancakes that come with fresh fruit every day. Yum, right?

But wait, there’s more! Cafe Coral also shines as a lunch spot if you’re craving something quick, homemade, and totally satisfying. They switch up their lunch menu now and then, but when I was there, they dished out homemade lasagna with garlic bread that was absolutely to die for.

3. Palmeras

Hey everyone, especially my vegan and vegetarian pals, listen up! I’ve got a local gem for you that you might miss if you don’t know where to look. Palmeras Eco Tienda started as a cozy, eco-friendly corner shop selling all sorts of sustainable goodies and snacks. They got pretty popular, and now it’s this adorable breakfast spot that I absolutely loved visiting.

They’ve still got their little shop, but now they’ve expanded into a vegetarian restaurant. They serve good coffee, smoothie bowls, fruit salad, the classic avocado on toast, and even treats like vegan chocolate cake and Snickers. Seriously, if you’re vegan or vegetarian, you HAVE to check this place out. Mancora doesn’t have a ton of options otherwise, so this spot is a real lifesaver!

4. Blacksheep Cafe

Turns out there are more awesome vegetarian and vegan spots around than I originally thought, especially for breakfast and lunch. One of my new favorites is Blacksheep Cafe, a cool little joint further down the main road. It’s a fantastic spot for vegetarians and vegans.

The place is cozy and on the smaller side of cafes, but they serve up some seriously good coffee, vegan pancakes, and even vegetarian and vegan burgers with delicious patties. I didn’t get a chance to try the burgers since I was there for breakfast, but they looked amazing. I bet they’re just as tasty as everything else.

Definitely worth checking out, especially if you’re on the hunt for tasty vegetarian options.

5. The Garden

One of my go-to lunch spots has to be The Garden restaurant at Selina Hostel. Yep, you heard right—this is the restaurant of a hostel, and it’s one of the best places in town for a fantastic lunch or a chill day session. The outdoor area at Selina boasts The Garden restaurant, a massive pool, and a beach bar. I’ve spent countless days there just eating and drinking by the pool.

The restaurant offers all sorts of delicious options, from fresh seafood and fruit to Asian cuisine and dishes from South America. But honestly, my favorite part has to be the Bloody Marys—the best I’ve had, hands down! But the best part is that if you order food and drinks, you’re totally allowed to use the pool. So, why not make a day out of it, right?

6. Cafe con Mar

So, in one of my other blog posts about ‘The Best Things to do in Mancora,’ I already shared that my favorite beach spot is the beach bar at the Del Wawa Hotel. Now, what do I do when hunger strikes after all that swimming, surfing, and lounging in the sun with a margarita in hand? You guessed it, I head straight to Cafe Con Mar.

Cafe con Mar is practically part of the Del Wawa hotel, set upstairs in a cozy little beach shack right where the beach bar is. They might not have a huge menu, but everything they offer is fantastic. They serve the most amazing smoothie bowls with fresh fruit, and they have some pretty good coffee too. But the real stars for me are the super delicious, fresh, homemade empanadas with all sorts of different fillings—I got a bit obsessed with them while I was there.

So, if you’re looking for a great spot to grab a small bite while enjoying the beach, Cafe Con Mar is definitely the place to be.

7. La Mosca En La Sopa

If you’re wondering where my absolute favorite dinner spot in Mancora is, it’s got to be La Mosca En La Sopa. This place has a vibe that’s a bit different from the usual beachy spots around here—think rustic steakhouse charm, and that’s totally a good thing. It’s exactly what you need when you’re craving something hearty.

If you’re a vegetarian, options are a bit limited, sorry! They’ve got fantastic steaks, mouth-watering burgers, and the most delicious mashed potatoes. Honestly, it’s everything you want when you’re in the mood for a substantial meal.

They serve a mix of traditional and Argentinian dishes and some that remind me of home—like perfectly grilled steak with sides of crispy fries or creamy mashed potatoes. Every bite is pure comfort.

Oh, and I can’t forget to mention their desserts. I absolutely love their cakes, especially the chocolate cake. It’s sooo good!

8. Pizzeria Trattoria

I know, I know, you might be thinking, “Why would you eat pizza in Peru when there’s so much other amazing food?” But let’s be real—sometimes you just crave pizza, and Pizzeria Trattoria is exactly what you need when those cravings hit hard.

Tucked away in a charming little back alley, this restaurant is super cute and decorated in a way that almost makes you feel like you’re in Italy. They’ve even got those classic red and white checkered tablecloths! I’m pretty sure the owner is Italian, which would totally explain why their food is out-of-this-world incredible.

Their pizzas are just absolutely delicious. And don’t even get me started on their garlic bread and caprese salad—both are super tasty. I’ll be honest with you, I’ve been there quite a few times, and every single visit included a liter carafe of their homemade sangria. Trust me, if you’re in the mood to treat yourself, I highly recommend it!

9. Tao Mancora

I’m pretty sure Tao is a chain in Peru, but trust me, that doesn’t take away from the fact that you’ll probably get the best sushi in town here. We haven’t made it to the Tao in Mancora yet, but we’ve been to another one in Peru, and we absolutely loved it.

Did you know Peru has a huge Japanese influence thanks to migration? Because of that, you’ll find amazing sushi and Asian fusion dishes all over the place. Tao nails it with their sushi, but they also serve up other Asian cuisine like tasty Thai food, delicious ramen, and some pretty awesome cocktails. It’s definitely a great spot for a nice dinner or even a date night.

10. Cevicheria Osmary

If there’s one thing Peru is famous for, it’s definitely ceviche. This zesty fish dish marinated in lemon juice is a must-try, and there’s always a big debate about where to find the best one. Well, let me let you in on a little secret: one of the top spots in Mancora is Cevicheria Osmary, hands down.

This charming little place is a bit off the beaten path, tucked away in a local neighborhood quite a walk from the touristy areas. But that’s part of its charm! It’s the real deal, where you’ll find locals gathering for a family lunch, and tourists are a rare sight.

The vibe here is fantastic. It’s not fancy, but that’s exactly what I love about it. It feels authentic and inviting. So, if you’re in Mancora and craving some amazing ceviche, make sure to check out Cevicheria Osmary.

Where to Eat in Mancora for a Date Night

11. Atlier Mancora

When you find yourself in Mancora, you’ve got to check out my personal favorite spot: Atlier Mancora on the high street. This is the place for a date night or any special occasion. The ambiance is just perfect – think dim lighting and cozy tables both inside and outside.

The menu is a delicious blend of Peruvian and international dishes, all beautifully presented. When I visited, I had the most mouth-watering seafood risotto and some tasty empanadas to start. And let’s not forget their amazing wines and cocktails!

Maybe it’s not the fanciest place in town, but it’s got the best vibe for a yummy dinner and some drinks. If you’re a foodie looking for beautifully presented dishes that taste as good as they look, Atlier Mancora is a must-visit. Oh, and do yourself a favor – try their chocolate lava cake for dessert. It’s heavenly!

12. La Sirena de Juan

Being in this popular beach town, you really have to check out La Sirena de Juan. Trust me, with so many other restaurants around, it can be tough to pick, but this one is a must-visit.

First off, the vibe here is just awesome. On one hand, it’s got that relaxed, casual feel you’d expect from a laid-back beach town. But on the other hand, it has a bit of an upscale twist with fantastic service and top-notch dishes. You know, the kind with small portions on big plates and fancy garnishes? Yep, that’s the one!

It’s the perfect spot to try some fancy dishes like lamb cheek pappardelle or grilled octopus, without having to dress up all fancy or break the bank. You get to keep it casual and still enjoy some high-class food.

So, if you’re looking for a fun and wholesome date night spot, La Sirena de Juan gets a big thumbs up from me.

Where to Eat in Mancora for the Seafood Dishes

13. Los Delfines

I absolutely have to mention Los Delfines because seafood is a big deal in Mancora. So, where’s the spot to get the best ceviche and fresh seafood? Yup, this is the one. It’s right by the ocean, next to all the surf schools. It’s my go-to spot for satisfying that post-surf seafood craving.

The place has a local vibe and a super casual atmosphere. Sure, they have a bit of slow service, and everything might take a little longer, but trust me, it’s worth it. They serve a delicious tuna ceviche, have a great happy hour, and the service is friendly. Overall, it’s just an excellent restaurant.

I usually go for the catch of the day, grilled (not fried), and it’s one of the best I’ve had in Peru. Definitely a huge recommendation from me.

Haha, funny enough, I did get food poisoning in Mancora! It was from a sushi restaurant right on the beach – I didn’t mention it in this blog post for obvious reasons. Just make sure to do your homework and trust your gut when it comes to restaurant hygiene.

Is it safe to eat street food in Mancora Peru?

While street food can be tempting with its delicious smells and low prices, it’s always important to exercise caution when eating from street vendors.
