The 5 Best Cafes & Coffee Shops in Palm Springs: My Favorite Spots for Coffee in 2026

I really don’t think I could’ve explored Palm Springs the way I did without a good coffee every single morning to get me going. Especially when you’re waking up early to beat the heat, hiking around the desert and then spending the rest of the day riding bikes around town, I definitely needed my coffee fix.

Palm Springs isn’t exactly known as a huge coffee destination, at least compared to places like Santa Barbara where you can basically find an amazing coffee shop on every corner. But I still managed to find a few really good cafes here, and yes, I definitely came back to some of them more than once during our stay.

So, to save you guys from having to wander around Palm Springs looking for a decent cup of coffee, I’ve put together this little guide with my 5 favorite cafes and coffee shops in Palm Springs that I tried myself.

The 5 Best Cafes & Coffee Shops in Palm Springs: My Favorite Spots for Coffee in 2026

What Are the Best Cafes & Coffee Shops in Palm Springs? I’ve Got the Answer

I wouldn’t go as far as saying I’m a coffee nerd, but I do really like drinking coffee!

Before we get started, I do quickly want to say that I’m definitely more of an espresso-based barista coffee guy. My usual order is a flat white or cortado, but I’m also very happy with a good cappuccino or latte.

If your ideal coffee is a cinnamon-swirl, drizzle-covered Frappuccino with approximately 47 different ingredients on top, then hey, this little guide might not be for you!

Anyways, to keep it quick, there were a couple of places in Palm Springs that I really loved.

First up is Coffeeism Co. I came here a couple of times during our stay, and both times there was literally a line out the door. But to be fair, that should tell you something because the coffee here is fantastic. They also make some pretty crazy matcha creations if that’s more your thing.

And then I also want to mention Cartel Roasting Co. in Palm Springs. They roast their own coffee in-house, make some really good espresso drinks, and I can especially recommend their cortado if you like your coffee a little more intense.

1. Coffeeism Co. // Best Coffee Shop in Palm Springs

Opening Hours: 6am-4pm
Price: $$$
My Rating: ★★★★
Menu & Location

Coffeeism Co. basically turned into my go-to coffee shop in Palm Springs, and judging by how busy it was, I feel like I’m definitely not the only one who thinks that.

Both times we came here, we had to wait about 15 minutes in line because it was so busy. But we weren’t in any rush, and the coffee was definitely worth waiting for.

We came here twice and tried something different each time. The first time, we kept it simple with a cortado and a latte, and both were fantastic. Then on our second visit, we decided to switch things up a little. We tried their Vietnamese coffee, which I’m a huge fan of anyway, and also some kind of strawberry matcha latte, which was surprisingly delicious.

This is definitely more of a coffee shop than a proper sit-down breakfast cafe. We sat down for a little while, but I think Coffeeism Co. is better suited to grabbing a good coffee and then heading out to explore downtown Palm Springs.

2. Mentosa Coffee Palm Springs (Inside Mojave Flea Trading Post)

Opening Hours: 8am-3pm
Price: $$
My Rating: ★★★★★
Menu & Location

Okay, first of all, I absolutely love Mojave Flea Trading Post.

We came here one morning because we wanted to do a little shopping, and this place is so freaking cool. It’s basically a huge warehouse filled with lots of little independent boutiques, kinda like an indoor market, with everything from quirky home decor to clothes and random vintage stuff.

And right inside all of that, you’ll also find Mentosa Coffee.

I just loved this place, especially on a hot Palm Springs morning. It was the perfect combination: grab a good coffee, wander around with your drink and then spend some time browsing all the little shops inside the flea market (And enjoying the AC).

We had a cappuccino here, which was really good, and we also tried a matcha. Both were absolutely spot on.

So even if you’re not specifically looking for coffee, I’d definitely add Mojave Flea Trading Post to your Palm Springs itinerary anyway, and having a good coffee from Mentosa Coffee while you’re there is just an added bonus.

3. Cartel Roasting Co.

Opening Hours: 7am-6pm
Price: $$
My Rating: ★★★★
Menu & Location

Cartel Roasting Co. is, at least in my eyes, your classic really good coffee shop. I don’t think you can ever go wrong here if you’re looking for a good barista-made coffee.

We stayed at The Skylark Palm Springs, which was literally just around the corner from Cartel Roasting, which was honestly dangerous because I love having a good coffee shop that close to my hotel.

I also love a good roastery where they roast their beans in-house. It always makes the whole place smell so damn good, and Cartel definitely had that going for it.

4. Koffi Palm Springs North // My Favorite Breakfast Sandwich in Palm Springs

Opening Hours: 6:30am-5:30pm
Price: $
My Rating: ★★★
Menu & Location

As much as I do prefer a fancy-schmancy barista coffee some mornings, I also just crave something simpler sometimes. Something a little more American.

I want a huge cup of coffee and a breakfast sandwich with egg, cheese and sausage. That’s it. Nothing fancy. Just give me the good stuff.

Well, when that’s what I’m craving, I’d come to Koffi Palm Springs North.

It’s definitely more of a traditional coffee shop, with good drip coffee and loads of awesome-looking pastries, but their sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich really hit the spot.

They also have a really nice little outdoor yard where you can sit down, have your breakfast and actually take a minute to enjoy it.

5. Cafe La Jefa

Opening Hours: 7am-4pm
Price: $$$
Menu & Location

And lastly, we have Cafe La Jefa, which I actually didn’t get to try myself.

A friend recommended it to me, though, and when I looked it up afterward, the first thing I thought was, ugh, I’m not sure if this decor is for me. It’s very extra, but I guess that kinda fits Palm Springs perfectly.

That being said, the coffee looks really good, and the breakfast looked right up my alley too. They have some huge-looking breakfast plates with eggs, bacon, hash browns which looked really yumy.

So it’s definitely somewhere I probably would’ve enjoyed going to, I just didn’t have enough time to make it there during our trip.
