The 5 Best Restaurants & Cafes in Ronda Spain: Everything I Ate in Ronda 2026
Spanish food is definitely one of my favorite cuisines in Europe and way better than the food in France in my opinion. I just love the simplicity of it and the quality of the ingredients, it honestly just makes me feel good and happy eating it.
Ronda is a small town in Andalusia, in the south of Spain and it’s most likely on your itinerary when you are in Andalusia (as it should be, Ronda is amazing). Here in Ronda I had some delicious Spanish tapas and tinto de verano, but also amazing coffee and a proper Spanish breakfast on my recent visit.
To make planning your time in Ronda a little easier, especially for all the foodies out there, I’ve put together a quick guide of my favorite restaurants and cafes in Ronda Spain. Whether you’re doing a day trip or staying overnight, this should make your life a little easier.

Best Restaurants & Cafes in Ronda Spain – My Quick Answer
I actually only did a day trip to Ronda, so I couldn’t try as much food as I wanted to. But since I’m a foodie and I love Spanish food, I still tried to visit as many restaurants and cafes as I could!
First thing in the morning when we arrived, we went straight to Black Coffee. I honestly mean this when I say it: I had some of the best Spanish breakfast I’ve ever had there. For an early breakfast in Ronda, I highly recommend checking them out.
For lunch, we went to Restaurante Tropicana, which I had just looked up on the spot. I didn’t realize at first that it was a little more upscale, not full-on fine dining or anything, just a little more elevated, but we had some delicious croquettes and wine there. I’d definitely recommend that spot for lunch if you want something that feels a bit more special.
Then, just before we left, I had to grab one more coffee. I went to Martina Speciality Coffee, which, from what I’ve seen, is probably the best coffee shop in Ronda. If you want a proper flat white or latte, come here. I had a flat white that was perfect and I was actually a little surprised to find such a high-quality specialty coffee shop in a smaller Spanish town!

1. Black Coffee // My Top Cafe in Ronda for a Spanish Breakfast
Opening Hours: 8:30am-11:00pm
Price: $$
My Rating: ★★★★
Menu & Location
When we arrived in Ronda early in the morning, one of the first things we needed was caffeine and a solid breakfast, so we basically beelined straight to Black Coffee. It’s located right in the center at Plaza España, literally next to the famous Puente Nuevo, so the location is absolutely perfect if you’re starting your sightseeing there.
We managed to get a table on their terrace in the sun, which was the perfect setting for us. I had a flat white that was really good, and then we shared a few different things like pan con tomate and some bocadillos stuffed with Iberian ham and Manchego cheese. Everything was super yummy.
To be honest, I didn’t love Spanish breakfast that much when I first started traveling here, but it’s definitely grown on me.
Now, I really appreciate the simplicity and the high quality of the meats and cheeses. The coffee here was also great by the way!

2. Restaurante Tropicana
Opening Hours: 12:30pm – 3:15pm & 7:45pm – 9:30pm
Price: $$$
My Rating: ★★★★★
Menu & Location
Restaurante Tropicana was our designated lunch spot for the day. Like I mentioned, we were only in Ronda for a day trip, which I’m still a little sad about because there were so many other spots on my list I wanted to try, but I’m really glad we picked this one.
We arrived right at 12:30 pm just as they were opening. The staff was super friendly, and they seated us immediately. We started with some amazing glasses of local wine and their croquettes, followed by a steak that we all shared. Everything was absolutely delicious.
I’ll be honest: it was a little on the pricier side, but I think it was 100% worth it for the quality. If you’re staying overnight in Ronda, I bet this would make for a really nice dinner spot too. Just a heads-up, though, it seems like a popular place, so you might want to grab a reservation if you’re planning on a dinner visit!

3. Martina Speciality Coffee // My Favorite Coffee in Ronda
Opening Hours: 9am-3pm
Price: $$
My Rating: ★★★★★
Menu & Location
If you’ve ever read any of my other travel guides, you probably already know that I am a little coffee-obsessed. Pretty much wherever I go, I will always try to find the best flat white or latte I can get my hands on.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t have the highest hopes for finding a proper specialty coffee shop in a smaller town like Ronda, but I actually managed to find one!
Martina Speciality Coffee is the place to go. I had a flat white there and it was amazing and I highly recommend coming here if you’re looking for a proper, high-quality coffee.
I didn’t get to try the food, but it looked really good. Just a heads-up that it can get busy; there weren’t any free tables when we first stopped by in the morning, which is why we only grabbed a coffee later on.

4. Pedro Romero Ronda
Opening Hours: 12pm-3pm & 7pm-10pm
Price: $$$
My Rating: ★★★★★
Menu & Location
One restaurant I had on my list before I even got to Ronda, but unfortunately couldn’t make it to, is Pedro Romero. Initially, I had planned to stay a couple of nights in Ronda (which I now totally regret not doing!), and that’s why I have so many restaurants researched and ready to go.
Pedro Romero is very much your typical Spanish restaurant and a local favorite. I would have come here for the classic Spanish dishes like oxtail, gazpacho, and croquettes.
One thing to note is that this isn’t a tapas restaurant and honestly, I really recommend going to Spanish restaurants that aren’t just for tapas. I feel like so many people only ever eat tapas when they’re here, but you’re missing out on so much good food if you don’t try a sit-down meal like this!
5. El Lechuguita
Opening Hours: 12:30pm-4pm & 8pm-11pm
Price: $$$
My Rating: ★★★★
Menu & Location
Last on my list is finally a proper tapas restaurant. From everything I researched, El Lechuguita is the best spot for tapas in Ronda, and I am absolutely devastated that I didn’t get to eat here.
It looks like it has such a fun atmosphere with outdoor seating and delicious food. From what I can tell, they are super popular for their montaditos, which is basically a small tapas sandwich. It’s different from a pincho, so don’t mix them up! A pincho is more like a tapas skewer with bread at the bottom, while a montadito is closer to a mini sandwich.
I would 100% recommend coming here to check it out, maybe grab a beer or a tinto de verano while you’re at it.
FAQs About Where to Eat in Ronda Spain
What is the best coffee shop in Ronda?
If you are looking for proper specialty coffee, like a perfect flat white or a good latte, then Martina Speciality Coffee is hands-down the best place I have found in Ronda. I had a flat white there and it was honestly perfect.
Are there any good cafes in Ronda Spain?
There are some great coffee shops in Ronda! Even though it’s a very touristy town, I still found some genuinely good breakfast restaurants. I loved Black Coffee for a more traditional Spanish breakfast and cafe con leche or Martina Speciality Coffee was also great which is a more modern coffee shop in Ronda.
Where should I go for lunch in Ronda?
We went to Restaurante Tropicana for a sit-down lunch and loved it. However, if you’re in the mood for tapas, El Lechuguita is a must-visit in Ronda. If you just want something quick like a coffee and a bocadillo (sandwich), Black Coffee is a great choice right in the center.
Is Ronda worth visiting?
100% yes. I’ve visited quite a few smaller villages in Andalusia and done many day trips, but out of all the places I’ve been, Ronda is my favorite. It just has such a cool vibe and the architecture is absolutely beautiful.
Is there free parking in Ronda Spain?
Yes, there is free parking, you just have to know where to look! There is a spot called Parking Público Gratuito (search for this on Google Maps) located just outside the city center. It has plenty of space and is completely free; that’s where I parked for the whole day, and it was super easy.
Final Thoughts on The Best Food in Ronda Spain
All in all, I was really surprised by how good, and how affordable, the food was in Ronda. Before I arrived, I had this idea in my head that it would be filled with nothing but “tourist trap” restaurants, similar to what you find in the very center of Malaga. I expected very few authentic spots, but I was totally wrong.
Ronda is a real city with real people and authentic restaurants. Yes, it’s touristy, but it’s mainly day-trippers coming through, so it doesn’t ruin the overall vibe of the city.
While there are definitely overpriced, mediocre spots in the very heart of the center, if you know where to go, it’s easy to find local gems. I’ll say it again: I definitely think it’s worth staying a night in Ronda to really slow down and enjoy everything this small town has to offer!
